Reminders:
*We get out at 1:40 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
*We get out at 12:15 on Friday (the last day of school)
*Monday is AR Movie day!

       **Those of you going to the AR Book Club movie of Angry Birds will leave campus at 10:00, see the movie at 10:30, return back to campus around 12:45. Please bring a lunch from home as you may miss the hot lunch in the cafeteria. It is OK to bring money for the concessions if you would like :)

*Friday is our 5th grade celebration! Parents are invited to come to the MU Room 10:30-11:15

**Please bring in your Science textbook and a paper (or reusable) bag this week

**Tomorrow is the last day for AR tests if you are trying to make the AR Book Club**

Tomorrow is also our field trip to Saratoga Springs! Please remember to bring:

*completely disposable lunch (just like Science Camp day 1)

*swimsuit & towel (if you want to swim)

*sunscreen & bug spray

There will be a Fun Zone that includes bocce ball, full size jenga, basketball, and more.

We will have the pool to ourselves for an hour (10:00-11:00).

And we will have the option to go with parents on a hike or down to the creek to explore.

International Fair May 6th 2016       4:30-6:30PM

Come showcase your country of descent at International Fair (IF) 2016, at Country Lane. Our school is a rainbow of cultures, with students and parents, hailing from far corners of the earth, who now call Country Lane, home. IF 2016 gives the school community a chance to celebrate its cultural diversity, while reminding the kids that within diversity lies unity. Please participate at IF 2016 by:

(1) Creating a country booth

(2) Performing in a 3-5 min cultural show

(3) Participating in a fashion show

OR

Just come by and enjoy an evening of food, fun, fashion and culture, in Country Lane.  Everyone (kids and parents) is encouraged to wear traditional costume. We already have ambassadors from the following countries:  Australia, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, USA.

See your home country?  Consider joining their team or simply come out to support them. Together let’s build a strong Country Lane community.

IF2016 event timeline (May 6th, Friday)

Table/booth setup:  2:30-4:20 pm

Meet/greet/eat:      4:30-5:15 pm

Flag ceremony:      5:15-5:30 pm

Cultural program:   5:30-6:00 pm

Fashion show:        6:00-6:30 pm

Fair ends/clean up:  6:30-7:00 pm

Smarter Balance Testing

We are coming up on testing time!

Our testing schedule is:

Friday, May 6th - ELA
Monday, May 9th - ELA
Tuesday, May 10th - ELA
Wednesday, May 11th - ELA
Thursday, May 12th - Math
Friday, May 13th - Math
Tuesday, May 17th - Science
Wednesday, May 18th - Science

Whew! We test between recess and lunch each day, 10:20-12:10. There is no time limit for the tests and students can always finish up on the following day. ELA and Math are on the computer and Science is paper and pencil.

Please do your best to be here each day and to get a good night of sleep the night before and a healthy breakfast in the morning. You all will do extremely well on these!
